Conference Center Marketing Manager

Rate of payStarting at $50000 per year


  • Develops and executes a mix of strategic and tactical solutions in a selling environment that supports overall business growth, and to exceed monthly conference center budgets
  • Creates and distributes promotional marketing and advertising campaigns, including coordinating special events, to drive sales and brand loyalty
  • Participates in management meetings and takes responsibility for marketing improvement initiatives and other assigned action items, projects, sales team meetings, and other activities as assigned
  • Represents the company and facility in a positive and professional manner at all times; interfaces professionally with owners, University of Illinois, and other facility stakeholders
  • Utilizes reporting data for process analysis and development with internal management and sales team; manages property-specific CRM, PMS, and other booking software and data
  • Upholds Four-Diamond service standards all times, while maximizing sale opportunities and upselling the entire facility
  • Documents and implements new processes and initiatives throughout the facility
  • Reports to Chief of Operations and Director of Sales and Marketing.

        

New Business Development

  • Research and qualify prospective accounts.   
  • Develop a marketing strategy, including comparing and evaluating services to make appropriate recommendations based on needs analysis of the prospective market.
  • Executing the sale, including proposal development, conducting presentations, negotiating pricing and presenting the contract to close the sale, including necessary reporting to management.


Account Management


  • Enhance organization’s reputation through consistent contact of existing client base.
  • Perform routine follow up calls to existing accounts.
  • Identify opportunities for expanding product offerings and ensure accounts are managed according to objectives.
  • Maintain a consultative relationship with the account clients and influencers to ensure renewal and continued growth.

 

Qualifications:


  • Motivated and self-directed sales professional that can operate within guidelines assigned
  • Exceptional communication and business writing skills, and positive professional attitude
  • Must demonstrate competence in performing cold calling, networking, target marketing to specific prospects, and have advanced selling skills
  • College degree or equivalent experience required
  • Knowledge in Salesforce or other CRM Software required
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience, at least 2 years management experience required
  • Knowledge in Event Management or Hotel PMS Systems is a plus
  • Technical proficiency (computer applications, data analytics, excel)
  • Mature, with good judgment, detailed oriented, friendly and responsible
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs quickly and effectively
  • Ability to multi-task, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be punctual, organized, and well-prepared
  • Must be available to work weekends, must have reliable transportation and be able to travel
