My name is Chris. I'm the owner and founder of Black & Brew, a coffee house and cafe which first opened its doors in 2006 in downtown Lakeland. In opening my own business, one of my most important objectives was to build a POSITIVE work culture in which every individual was treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. In my own experience, I found that taking a job in the hospitality arena often meant dealing with toxic or even hostile working conditions. Cafe Supervisor
As a Cafe Supervisor you'll be leading a top-notch team of baristas through a successful daily service. While your day-to-day may vary, you will spend time organizing and deploying your team, training new staff, assisting with inventory and ordering, and working to facilitate the customer experience through excellent service and expert preparation of menu items. Black & Brew is a super busy cafe, so shifts as a Cafe Supervisor fly by! We keep the work environment professional, but light, and actively strive to encourage and foster good working relationships. Here's a sampling of your responsibilities:
- Providing genuine and friendly customer service at all times while ensuring your team provides the same level of service.
- Supervising a team of 5 - 6 people a shift while coordinating with the Kitchen Manager and Back of House staff.
- Opening and/or closing the cafe with efficiency.
- Preparing and serving expertly crafted beverages which include lattes, frappes, teas and an assortment of other coffee house staples.
- Delivering food to guest via drive thru or at the customer order pickup area.
- Table bussing and general cleanliness of the dining room and work areas.
- Order taking via Toast Point of Sale.
- Cash drawer reconciliation.
- Answering phone calls with excellent phone etiquette.
- Memorization of beverage recipes and menu ingredients.
- Compliance with food safety guidelines in all areas of the restaurant.
- Facilitating other Front-of-House duties as deemed necessary by the General Manager or ASM.
- A High School diploma or equivalent is desirable.
Applicants will also be expected to be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time and lift potentially heavy objects when necessary. Prior experience is preferred.
