Job description

The Kitchen Manager is fully responsible for operational excellence in the kitchen, inventory, food safety, and ensuring guests leave with a product that provides 100% customer satisfaction in a timely manner. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for getting the restaurant to perform at a level that is consistent with the Top 20% of Chick-fil-A restaurants across the nation and provides 100% guest satisfaction. The position reports to the Directors of Chick-fil-A Altoona and the candidate must desire to work as part of a leadership team.


TOP 2 GOALS:

1) Deliver and exceptional quality product in a fast and accurate manner

2) Set the gold standard for food safety by a dedication and focus on quality, cleanliness, and producing elite food safety and quality scores on store audits


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work alongside Owner/Operator, Directors, Management, and Leads to pursue excellence in all areas including personal growth with the resources that are made available
  • Oversee all personnel, processes, and communication of the restaurant
  • Oversee that all brand standards are being met including food safety and other policies that are outlined in the Chick-fil-A Altoona Handbook
  • Manage labor and food cost gaps to the appropriate goals set forth
  • Oversee that all safety and security procedures are being followed correctly
  • Safeguard equipment by overseeing the appropriate usage of equipment in the store and protecting it from any misuse and/or abuse
  • Maintain, assess, and ensure the cleanliness of store at all times to satisfy food safety requirements and to create a remarkable guest experience
  • Document all call-offs, disciplinary issues, vendor visits, etc., immediately as they occur
  • Achieve ServSafe certification
  • Oversee and ensure the utilization of all resources including Checklists, Jolt, the LEAN system, Google Workspace, etc.
  • Manage and oversee the “Waste Tracking” and “Chicken Tracking” system
  • Implement systems so waste does not exceed .5 % per month
  • Oversee set-up sheets, standard operating procedures and ensure that the critical positions
  • Understand and enforce the federal and local health code regulations
  • Ensure that employees are completing the SAFE Daily Critical and ERQA and utilize the findings to educate employees on necessary improvements.
  • Enforce and ensure that all team members are following LEAN at all times to minimize waste and improve food quality
  • Ensure that the kitchen is always cleaned and organized with a special emphasis on areas that have potential to be cross contaminated
  • Ensure that food safety audit scores are >90% and that there are not any high priority issues
  • Set forth goals for the leadership team and for the team members to increase productivity
  • Assist with scheduling when requested to ensure that a two-week schedule is set for all employees using HotSchedules
  • Oversee the Quality and Food Safety Lead to ensure that there is 100 % dedication to food safety
  • Set challenging goals that motivate and develop the team towards increased performance of the outlined performance metrics
  • Empower and develop high performing leaders that contribute to operational excellence in the “Make it Happen” half
  • Mentor Trainers and Team Leads to develop their abilities
  • Observe and certify employees to ensure that they are properly trained
  • Responsible for ensuring that truck orders are completed on time, accurate, checked-in appropriately, and discrepancies are documented correctly in the Inform system
  • Oversee the organization of all inventory in the store to ensure operational efficiency
  • Perform weekly and monthly inventory counts when appropriate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years of age with culinary experience
  • Must be ServSafe certified or willing to pursue certification
