Working at Mathnasium is fun and rewarding! We are there to help kids increase their confidence and aptitude in math. This means getting to know each individual student and connecting with them on a human level to celebrate their victories and motivate them through times of frustration. Before you start working with students, we will train you in the Mathnasium Method, which uses verbal, tactile, and written techniques for making math concepts understandable. During each instructor shift, you will work with students in a team teaching model, where instructors rotate among all of the students on the floor (or online!). It's important to exercise patience and to accept each student where they are. Sometimes there might be students who have behavioral issues, who can't seem to master a tricky math concepts, or who feel tired, unmotivated, or frustrated on a given day. Your role will be to use positive and supportive approaches to keep students feeling safe and engaged, and to communicate any complications to the Center Director. As a team, we will succeed in making a difference in students' lives!
