Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sourcing Manager to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers. Ensure that all sourcing activities reflect Straus Family Creamery’s commitment to sustainability and ethical practices.
- Sourcing Strategy: Create and implement sourcing strategies that align with our mission, ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality organic ingredients. Identify and engage with new suppliers who meet our stringent standards.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best terms and pricing while maintaining our commitment to fair trade and sustainability.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all sourced products meet our high standards for quality and safety.
- Cost Management: Manage sourcing budgets and find opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or ethical standards.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging products, and potential new suppliers.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Work closely with the sustainability team to ensure all sourcing practices contribute to our environmental goals and carbon footprint reduction.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, marketing, and R&D to ensure alignment of sourcing activities with company goals and product development.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities and provide regular reports to senior management on supplier performance, cost savings, and sustainability achievements.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in sourcing or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Passion for Organic Food: Genuine interest and enthusiasm for organic food and sustainable agriculture.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, market trends, and supplier performance metrics to make informed sourcing decisions.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ethical Mindset: Deep commitment to ethical sourcing practices and supporting sustainable, organic farming methods.
- Team Player: Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a mission-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification: Professional certifications in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
- Network: Established network of suppliers within the organic food industry.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with sourcing and supply chain management MRP software.
