Dog Rehabilitation Trainer
Our Ideal Candidate:
- 1-2 years of experience training reactive dogs and their people.
- Hands-on dog handling experience across the entire spectrum of size, breed, and reactivity level.
- Familiarity with a rehabilitation setting and a mentality around making dog training accessible to everyday people.
- Ability to recognize dog body language and handle situations accordingly.
- Effective communication skills with both customers and staff.
- Dependable with reliable transportation.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must be available to work early mornings and weekends.
- Positive attitude and openness to whatever the day brings.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Lead Daily Training and organize support staff to help execute daily training exercises.
- Create videos and notes for owners detailing training and socialization activities.
- Work with owners one-on-one and their pets to ensure positive outcomes and experiences.
- Upload videos and add behavior descriptions for owners
- Advise owners on how to manage their pets behaviors at home
- Communicate and collaborate with staff to ensure positive outcomes
- Help train new staff in best handling practices
- While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to a typical kennel environment and may encounter unpleasant kennel smells and noises.
- This is a very physical job; candidates must be able to work on their feet for the entire shift, lift/hold dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and maneuver multiple sets of stairs during a shift.
