Brown Iron Brewhouse is a renowned community house that celebrates great American beer with outstanding smokehouse cuisine. As a Bar Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all bar operations, ensuring exceptional service standards, and maximizing operating efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the General Manager to set objectives and targets for the bar
• Train and coach bartenders, assessing their development needs
• Set and monitor quality and service standards for the staff
• Create and update the wine and cocktail list
• Communicate company policies, standards, and procedures to the staff
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages, maintaining set standards
• Promptly resolve customer complaints
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the bar area, scheduling and cleaning beer lines
• Maintain cleanliness of the 64-tap keg room, change kegs, and update the beer menu
• Adhere to cash management procedures
• Monitor and order beer, wine, and liquor
• Liaise with suppliers and sales representatives
• Check deliveries and ensure correct documentation
• Stock glassware and rotate bar items correctly to reduce wastage
• Maximize functionality and attractiveness of the bar display
• Implement cost control measures for the bar area
• Coordinate with the General Manager and chef for organizing and promoting monthly beer dinners
• Pair beer and food for tastings and speak at events
• Implement improvements for products and service
• Maintain regular communication with staff and management through meetings and discussions

Skills & Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in the restaurant industry as a manager, server, or bartender
• In-depth working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
• Knowledge of current beer, wine, and cocktail industry trends
• Experience in staff management and development
• Cicerone and TIPS certification
• Track record of managing inventory and cost control
• Able to use relevant computer applications
