Automotive Inventory Porter

Rate of pay$16 - 21 per hour

We are seeking an individual to join our team as a Vehicle Photographer / Porter.


The right person for this position loves mastering a process and becoming an expert at their craft. By owning the process, and duplicating it each day, the ideal candidate will be able to produce consistent, vibrant and uniform photos of our vehicle inventory. Our ideal photographer is detailed, willing to do new things, and open to a growing and adapting to a changing department. Will train on the camera.


In this role, you will take and manage inventory photos, stock in new cars coming through the process, clean inventory and maintain the look and appearance of our showroom. The showroom keeps 40-50 vehicles inside so being comfortable driving and moving cars in tight spaces will be required. You will work directly with the Sales Manager in moving vehicles from our service location to showroom and assist in keeping price stickers up to date.


The role of a Porter is to open and help close the store. Maintaining cleanliness by performing duties such as, picking up garbage around the exterior, cleaning coffee station, vacuuming carpets and cleaning the bathroom if needed.


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities::


● photo all inventory for advertising oversee the delivery or return of vehicles to the dealership

● required to check cars in; clean off any auction related lettering and stickers from all windows; remove all out of state plates; install FMC inserts and frames on every vehicle; place FMC sticker on windows

● required to follow guidelines for parking cars

● responsible for presenting a clean, washed, vacuumed, new plate frames and FMC sticker on vehicles

● maintains quality and cleanliness to vehicles and working space

● able to maneuver vehicles carefully in crowded spaces, moving and parking vehicles for maximum lot efficiency

● make sure every vehicle is displayed in its best possible state; consider internal vehicles vs. customer vehicles

● able to occasionally engage with customers; must be friendly and informative, able to answer customer questions in a professional, conversational manner


Physical Demands / Requirements::

Duties performed in a variety of settings and surrounding environment. Physical activities are required, such as but not limited to kneeling, reaching, stooping, climbing ladders, frequent walking, standing, lifting, up to approximately 50 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds may be required. The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise and hazards. The environment also exposes the employee to potentially hazardous substances.


Dress Code::


Solid black t-shirts and jackets, undershirts solid black, dark blue jeans or black pants, shoes to be black or gray. Freeman hats or solid black hats or beanie.


No competing logos present unless approved.


Education and Experience::


● high school diploma or equivalent required


Key Competencies::


● able to operate vehicles with manual transmissions

● able to safely operate company and client vehicles

● must have a valid Oregon drivers license with insurable driving record

● must be familiar with basic email and computer skills, phone, cordless drill/screwdriver, battery charger

● must have an eye for detail

● must dress in a neat and tidy manner and adhere to company dress code

● must be able to meet the physical demands essential functions of the job

● must be willing to take direction

● should be mature and highly motivated

● must be able to maintain effective personal relationships with supervisory, staff members and customers.

● must be flexible in hours

● ability to adapt to change as we are a growing company

● must be willing to submit to a pre-employment criminal background check and results must meet company standards

● must be willing to adhere to random drug testing and results must be clean

The Photographer / Porter will be assigned a schedule by the General Sales Manager and expected to adhere to that schedule as long as they are present during their normal schedule. Company meetings are held quarterly and you should be prompt and in attendance.
