Job Summary
Staff Accountant provides support to the finance and accounting management in daily reviewing, updating and completing daily activity reports. This position also supports our operation and management teams in providing accurate and timely daily reporting. This particular position will be focused on daily revenue balancing and cash/credit card reconciliation and verification and will work with management and operations to ensure accurate and timely daily reporting and month-end close.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Daily review and balancing of daily activity in all of our operating systems. Updating the daily activity journal and ensure proper coding of all revenues and settlements.
- Daily review, tracking and reconciliation of all cash/checks and credit cards received and/or processed.
- Maintain the daily cash journal
- Ensure the AR and deposit ledgers are balanced on a daily basis for all the different operating systems
- Accounts Receivable collections procedures including invoicing, follow up on outstanding/past due balances
- Assist the AR Staff Accountant in monitoring new contracts, deposit schedules, and collections as needed
- Assist with accounts payable entry and full cycle process, as needed
- Ensure proper filing of all documentation
- Assist Accounting Management with various other task as assigned which may include special projects, inventory assistance, tracking

Qualifications and Skills
- Accounting or Finance degree preferred; accounting work experience can substitute for a degree - preferably in the hotel/resort or event management industry.
- Experience working in various PMS/POS systems. Understanding of revenue recognition and basic accounting standards.
- Knowledge of Quickbooks
- Highly detailed and organized.
- Knowledge and experience in using excel spreadsheets and 10-key.
