[SEASONAL] - Guest Relations Office Attendant

PLEASE NOTE: This is a seasonal position for the month of January 2025, with some positions starting in late December. Individuals in this role will be required to work every day January 5th-January 26th, up to 12 hours per day. Additional work may be available the week following Stock Show, January 27th-January 31st.

Overview

As a Guest Relations Office Attendant, you’ll serve as a key support to the Guest Relations Department, helping to ensure that our team is organized, equipped, and ready to assist event attendees. Primary responsibilities include checking in Guest Relations team members at the start of their shifts, distributing necessary equipment such as radios and uniforms, and monitoring attendance and call-outs.

Reports to: Senior Manager, Guest Relations


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Check in Guest Relations team members at the start of each shift, ensuring they are clocked in, equipped with necessary gear, and informed of their assignments for the day.
  • Check out team members at the end of each shift, collecting equipment and ensuring accurate time records.
  • Track attendance, document call-outs, and communicate any staffing adjustments to department leads.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and ensure all equipment is properly stored and accounted for at the end of each shift.
  • Provide administrative support to the Guest Relations Department as needed, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Desired Experience, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Friendly, approachable demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with team members and department leads.        
  • Candidates must be available for early mornings, late nights, and weekends throughout the 16 days of Stock Show (January 11th-January 26th), with shifts up to 12 hours per day.
  • Comfortable adjusting to changing needs and proactively addressing staffing or equipment-related issues.
  • Proficiency in using digital tracking systems for attendance and equipment logs.
  • Fluent in English, with clear verbal and written communication abilities; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Candidates must have the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work both indoors and outdoors as needed.

Working Conditions

National Western Complex is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor commercial and agricultural complex where dusty conditions and animals may exist. While performing the duties of this job, work is performed both indoors and outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain, on varied surfaces. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with large crowds.

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • This is a seasonal, hourly position with a pay rate of $19.50/hour.
  • Paid sick time offered at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
  • Shift differentials offered – earn more for working nights!
