As the Produce Manager at Value Center Marketplace, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our produce department, ensuring top-notch customer service, efficient inventory management, and the highest standards of product quality. You will be responsible for managing a team, maintaining department profitability, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and providing expert guidance on product selection.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and train a team of department staff, ensuring they follow the best practices for customer service, product preparation, and safety standards.
• Maintain a well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing produce department. Oversee produce cutting, packaging, labeling, and rotation to ensure freshness and compliance with company standards.
• Monitor stock levels, place orders, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Manage product waste and shrinkage while maximizing profitability.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including product recommendations, answering customer questions, and handling special orders.
• Ensure that all food handling, storage, and processing adhere to strict food safety guidelines and health regulations. Conduct regular audits and inspections.
• Drive sales growth through effective merchandising, product knowledge, and promotional efforts. Implement strategies to increase department sales and profitability.
Qualifications:
• Experience in a produce department management or similar leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and other produce items, including seasonality, handling, and storage. Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• A passion for delivering excellent customer service and a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work in a cold environment.
• Weekends and holidays are mandatory as they are Value Center’s busiest times.
Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications and discussed during the interview.
