We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly trainers who will be responsible for planning and leading a range of individualized exercise/activity sessions for clients in a fitness specialty area. A Personal Trainer at the Y will help members meet their health and fitness goals by assisting them in designing, training, and maintaining a personalized exercise program, while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the members while they are on the wellness floor.
Day In The Life of a Personal Trainer:
- Provides energizing, fun, safe, and educational one-on-one personal training to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
- Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Provides a clean and well-maintained wellness center, including knowledge of equipment preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
What's required:
- Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, national accredited certification in personal training
- At least one year of personal training experience is preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to conduct training sessions and activities.
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including demonstrating exercises, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
