Job Description:
The Vice President of Operations will oversee the daily operations for team, focusing on driving operational efficiency and ensuring good performance across all departments. The role requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in the auto insurance industry and a proven ability to manage, develop, and inspire high-performing teams. In collaboration with senior leadership, the VP will implement strategic initiatives, address emerging challenges, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
• Lead the operations team, ensuring high performance and alignment with the company’s goals and values.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members, including senior leaders.
• Address unprofessional behavior promptly and effectively, maintaining a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
• Manage back-office operations, including overseeing policy issuance, endorsements, and other interconnected processes.
• Monitor the productivity of the operations workforce and implement strategies to improve efficiency.
• Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans related to staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities align with the company’s business plan and strategic vision.
Team Development:
• Design and implement effective training programs that reinforce key processes and concepts, helping team members grow and succeed.
• Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and acting on opportunities to enhance work processes and team performance.
• Provide constructive feedback and direction to ensure teams meet or exceed performance expectations.
Achieving Operational Efficiency:
• Oversee the implementation and use of CRM systems and other tools (including Microsoft Office Suite) to streamline operations and improve customer service.
• Ensure the efficient execution of all processes, contributing to the overall success of the company and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in the auto insurance industry.
• 8+ years of proven management experience, with a track record of leading teams to success.
• Experience with policy management systems, billing systems, and underwriting.
Skills & Competencies:
• Extensive knowledge of industry principles, procedures, and best practices.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and proactively, demonstrating a high sense of responsibility and accountability.
• Strong proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to plan and execute effectively.
• Proven experience in identifying and implementing technologies or services to improve operational efficiency.
• Ability to communicate fluently in both insurance and technology terminology.
