Job Overview:
Vanda is looking for passionate line cooks to join our team. As a lead line cook & pantry cook, you will be responsible for preparing salads, cold appetizers, bread service, desserts, and managing the salumi station. You will also work closely with the grill and saute cooks to ensure a timely and efficient service. Specials run daily, giving you the opportunity to showcase your creativity and culinary skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Saute:
- Learn and memorize dish components
- Develop specials on a daily and weekly basis
- Ensure consistency, cleanliness, and organization
- Expo tickets with other line cooks and stations, as well as servers
- Prep and create various sauces
Grill:
- Prepare all entrees, sides, and hot appetizers
- Utilize fryer, grill, oven, and range
- Set up and break down station in a timely manner
- Prep and stock items
- Follow recipes and protocols
- Work closely with saute cook to communicate and ensure timely service
- Develop specials on a daily and weekly basis
Salad/Pantry Station:
- Prepare salads, cold appetizers, bread service, and desserts
- Use slicer and follow recipes
- Ensure station set up and cleanliness
- Keep prep and inventory stocked and organized
- Create a proper prep list
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience as a line cook, preferably in Italian cuisine
- Passion for cooking and the hospitality industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes
