Job Title: Catering Event Coordinator
Employment Type: Full-time hourly position
Compensation: $25 per hour plus tips
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Catering Event Coordinator to join our team at Coupa Cafe. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of catering events by upholding our company's standards of excellence. You will play a crucial role in adhering to all guidelines, regulations, and expectations related to food quality, presentation, and customer service. The Catering Event Coordinator will oversee the smooth execution of events, from planning to implementation, to ensure an exceptional experience for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate various events including conferences, weddings, birthdays, etc.
- Plan seating layout and decorations.
- Monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
- Review catering event requests and assign tasks to staff.
- Ensure excellent guest service and compliance with event standards.
- Supervise catering staff and ensure smooth operations.
- Produce quotes and invoices, and manage event finances.
- Promote catering services and develop marketing materials.
- Bring in new business accounts and promote coffee sales.
- Upsell events to increase revenue.
- Assist customers with inquiries and orders.
- Conduct tastings for potential customers.
- Collaborate with Chef to create custom menus.
- Manage inventory and order supplies.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and insurance requirements.
- Maintain a valid California Driver’s License, Vehicle Registration, and Minimal Liability Insurance as required by law.
- Punctuality and consistent attendance
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent in hospitality or related field
- Minimum of two years experience in banquet or catering services
- Proficiency in catering menu planning and development
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to catering events
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Food Safety Manager Certification
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong mathematical skills (including rapid arithmetic)
- Competence in using computer applications, software systems, and spreadsheets
- Ability to maintain accurate record keeping procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
- Must be at least twenty-one years of age to serve alcoholic drinks
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record and reliable transportation
