Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to assist the optometrist in providing excellent eye care services to our patients. The Optometric Technician will be responsible for conducting preliminary eye exams, performing diagnostic tests, and assisting with contact lens fittings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preliminary eye exams, including taking patient history and measuring visual acuity
  • Perform diagnostic tests, such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging
  • Assist with contact lens fittings, including teaching patients how to insert and remove lenses
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist the optometrist during exams
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records
  • Clean and maintain equipment and instruments
  • Order and maintain inventory of supplies and contact lenses
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of eye anatomy and common eye diseases
  • Ability to perform diagnostic tests and use specialized equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed
