Journeyman Plumber Job Description
A journeyman plumber is a skilled worker who focuses on plumbing and drainage systems. It’s their job to install new systems and the supply lines that they need to function properly. Journeyman plumbers also maintain and repair systems that have already been put together. To succeed in this role, a journeyman plumber needs to be deeply familiar with pipe fittings, plumbing fixtures, and everything that goes into creating a functioning plumbing system. They’ll be asked to do this work for both residential and commercial clients.
Journeyman plumbers may also be asked to supervise younger plumbers who are in the process of completing a plumbing apprenticeship. As their skills grow, they can eventually rise to the status of a master plumber.
Employers who hire for this position usually want to see some hands-on experience in their applicants’ resumes. The best way for someone to get that experience is by completing a plumbing apprenticeship.
