Salon Manager Job Description

A salon manager manages a hair, beauty, or spa salon. They have two key responsibilities. The first is to ensure that the company is profitable. They do this by setting prices, using marketing campaigns to attract new clients, and through various other methods. The second key job of a salon manager is to ensure client satisfaction. They do that by hiring the best people and overseeing the training process for them. Other tasks that an employee in this role may complete include managing inventory, creating policies for store maintenance, and creating work schedules for salon staff members, among others.

Many salon managers are promoted to the role from the salon’s staff. But employers who hire for the role typically want to hire a candidate who has a license in cosmetology and significant experience in the field.
