Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Steamfitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining steam heating systems, as well as other related equipment and piping systems. The Steamfitter will work closely with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain steam heating systems, including boilers, radiators, and piping systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation of steam heating systems
  • Perform routine maintenance on steam heating systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts as necessary
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with steam heating systems, and make necessary repairs
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards
  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a steamfitter apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces

Working Conditions: The Steamfitter will work primarily indoors, in a variety of settings, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and residential homes. The job may require working in confined spaces, at heights, and in noisy environments. The Steamfitter may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and may be required to travel to job sites.

Salary: The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
